Dan is an artist and fisherman, who was born and raised in Memphis, and now resides in beautiful middle Tennessee. Largely a self-taught artist, Dan is most comfortable working with watercolor paints. His work is inspired by his surroundings and his activities, and traditionally portrays the things he loves most – wildlife (in particular, fish), people and sports. Dan’s paintings are presented in vivid color, filling the paper with a blend of washes, broad strokes and intricate detail.

Dan has participated in area art festivals, and his painting “Panfish” was selected as the promotional artwork for the 2006 Greenway Art Festival in Murfreesboro. Dan has appeared on Nashville’s Outdoor Trail Magazine radio show and the Tennessee Crossroads and Tennessee Wildside television programs. In November 2007, he was the featured artist at the City Hall Rotunda Gallery in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

David began fly fishing in Michigan in 1975 fishing small ponds and creeks for bass and pan fish.

After moving to Knoxville, TN in 1998 he began to fish the streams of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park as well as other streams in the East Tennessee area. A lot of his time was spent on the Clinch River near Norris Dam catching brown and rainbow trout.

David moved to Middle TN in the spring of 2001 and he began to fish the Caney Fork, the Elk and other Middle TN rivers for rainbow, brown and recently brook trout.

David now owns Southeastern Fly Guided Drift Boat Fishing and works hard to help all anglers have a great day on the river. The 16' Hyde Drift Boat is a safe, comfortable way to float the river and is the best way to cast to trout.
